GRP Underwriting appoints Plum’s Simon Lewer

Simon Lewer has been appointed business development director, underwriting, at GRP. Simon will report to Clive Nathan, CEO of underwriting.
He moves from his current business development role at GRP’s Plum Underwriting business, and will start his new role immediately, representing Plum Underwriting, Camberford Law, City of London Underwriting, and European Property Underwriting.
He said: “I know Clive well and am very much looking forward to working with him to help take the underwriting division forward, in particular making sure that brokers take full advantage of our portfolio of products and services.”
Clive Nathan said: “Simon is my first senior appointment since joining GRP and I am delighted he has chosen to take on this new challenge. The underwriting division has grown rapidly to become a £100m GWP business, and we are now well-placed to continue with this trajectory, building on the strength of our highly regarded specialist portfolio.”
Meanwhile Plum Underwriting (Plum) is expanding the firm’s broker scheme portfolio after appointing Heidi Saxty to the newly created role of Head of Schemes Underwriting.
Heidi joins Plum with almost 20 years’ experience in household schemes underwriting management. She will be responsible for growing and delivering profitable growth from existing and new scheme opportunities utilising Plum’s expertise in the non standard and specialist household market.
Clive Nathan said: “Heidi brings Plum enormous non-standard technical underwriting expertise and strong broker relationship development experience. She will play an important role in helping us maintain our position as a market-leading MGA as we expand our niche and flexible underwriting footprint through our range of products to brokers via our multiple distribution channels.”
